Thanks For The Good Times

Today is my last day with Recruiting.com

The domain name and blog have been a major part of my life for the last 4 years and though I am never great with change, for some reason, I am a very happy camper today.

I have made some very good friends over the years because of Recruiting.com and I hope I was able to provide some real good value and entertainment to all those who made recruiting.com a daily read.

A while back I set up a site called RecruitingBlogs.com so that I could view the recruiting blogosphere the way I wanted to see it. This is where I will be writing about things I want to write about that have to do with recruiting and blogs and anything else that I want. So far, I like it. There are some limitations but I will figure out ways around them. If you are ever so inclined, stop by and help add some color. After all, what is the recruiting blogosphere without color?

My current email should still work for the next few weeks but after tomorrow you can email me at Jason (at) TalentID.com

It’s kind of weird that this is my last post here but I am really happy to be moving on and I feel that it is good for everyone involved.

This is Jason signing off from Recruiting.com. The pleasure has all been mine.

Thanks

Bye

Jason- glad to see you go! You have been nothing but a pain in the XXX since you entered this recruiting business! Just kidding! You remain to be a young visionary whose mind never rests. Someday you will make a boat load of money on one of your dreams and I will be here to help you spend it. Stay in touch and looking forward to your next trip to the southeast. Keep working on those guitar riffs so we can jam together once more.
You dad

No anonymous comments from me, my friend!

Good times, indeed. Thanks for helping me get over the hurdle and dive in to the world of blogging. 2004 was a great year for many a blogger.

Your encouragement has seen me go from recruitersdumpingground.blogspot.com, to talentbloggers.com, to maskedblogger.com, to careerbuilders.com, and finally, to.....wirelessjobs.com.

Obviously, the latter wouldn't be possible if not for you.

The pleasure has been in knowing you and learning from you.

What do you say we keep growing this thing, eh?

Let me now wax poetic on this final day with a bit of revised prose from Shakespeare's Henry V, 1598:

KING HENRY (Jason) V:
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And the remembrance of Recruiting.com shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of bloggers;

For he to-day that posts on a weblog with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen across the globe now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That blogged with us at Recruiting.com.

Cheers to you, Jason Davis, the King Henry of Blogging.

El Big Hat No Cattle,

Do you fish for brown trout...

No wonder you were so quick to defend Jason's crappy pitch...

Jay Dee, you are among my most trusted friends and confidants.
You did your pied piper show and we followed. You asked questions, we answered them and you listened and we asked each other quite a few more to answers yet to be found. You have that anything is possible spirit, surprising for a Canadian, - it can be said you are more American than many I've ever known. The entrepreneur who creates and everyone prospers, - you taught the credo of monetizing and community building. All in all, quite a resume at your age, but what we will all remember is what a true friend you are and how easy it is to befriend you, respect you and to that, I say, looking forward to the next day at the next place

PS Michael, thanks for putting soul into my powerful theme song lol

Jason - the reason many of us blog, and the birth of the blogsphere phenomenon, is you. Your vision and leadership has not only made recruiting.com what it is but given all of us a different way to view the recruiting process itself.

I look forward to seeing what new worlds you will conquer and thank you for making recruiting.com what it is today.

Jason -

I can't wait to see what you'll do for an encore. I'm sure you'll continue to be an important voice in the recruiting industry.

Im no insider, so when and how do I get the real story on why you're leaving?

Spring 2006, says tall Jason: "I own lots of URL's dealing with recruiting - collecting URL's has been kind of a hobby for me"

No sh*t - "recruitingblogs.com" leveraging the super cool Ning platform - not too shabby at all, makes you wonder what other sweet URL's you have sitting on your shelves.

Sound more like next level than encore to me.

Enjoy - I will.

Jason,

I owe you a big thank you for creating this space. Without you, this site, and Jim Durbin my little experiment with the blog would likely not have been sustained. I had an idea but no sense of what to do or how to do it.

I learned a lot from you and our colleagues here. Made many new friends.

Thanks for creating the "fuel" that helped me get my "vehicle" going.

Jay-Dee thanks for doing the show today. You got the guts. But that that tribute from Bull Doza (the song), it really stole the show. Be seein' ya old pal. (Welcome Mr X). The Recruiting Animal.

Thanks John, I appreciate it. You are the act that I followed. Maybe a little differently but you were the band that made me say I wanna do that and that is always the sign of a good band.

Amazing job, Jason. There is a scene in the Recruiting space, online and off, because of your hard work. It's an astonishing accomplishment.

I'm anxious to watch the evolution of Recruitingblogs.com. I sort of doubt that this is the end of your pleasure. I'm beting that Recruitingblogs.com will keep you entertained for years to come. I'm expecting to get some of my entertainment needs me there as well.

You will be a tough act to follow.
