Here is a suggestion for Recruiting.com. Since in my opinion, some of the people who get the most out of Recruiting.com are the ones who submit the most articles to the site. Jobster could figure out how to display a top 10 list of submitters on the side of the site. When you click on it, it would look something like this and maybe a Jobster profile if the person so wished it to be there. If it were me, I would add a third column and put it there to start. The benefits are obvious and it will drive people to figure out how to make sure they stay on that top 10 list. I know a few who will.
I talked to John Sumser yesterday. He called me from his car. He was driving through a California Valley on very level ground and he said it was going to be like that for the next 400 miles. I asked him if he had read any of the blog posts lately and he said a few. I let him know that there was some feeling of mistrust and disappointment amongst some vocal recruiting blogospheriacs. I told him about the post I wrote and he let me know what he thought. We talked for about 15, 20 minutes
I got off the phone thinking that John is taking this new role very seriously. I do believe that to be true. John said that if he were picking someone to be the new guy at Recruiting.com he would have picked me. Thanks John. He let me know that there are lots of Recruiting.com things he wants to talk to me about and get my views on and I am genuinely happy that he wants to know these things. He let me know about something he is thinking about and I’ll let him tell you about it but I think it’s a great idea. It gives me confidence and confidence is what you need when you have an investment in something.
I have an investment in Jobster and though it can be very exciting to get caught up in the CheezBerg - er speed eating competitions that seem to creep up every so often,I do want to see them succeed of course and so do lots of people. I also want to see John and Recruiting.com succeed as well. I know they will. Now lets get back to business. Blogs are great for helping your business. You should start one
