Last night, Jobster went live with a beta blog buddy system that first appeared on Jason Goldberg’s Blog and then shortly after on Recruiting.com. You can see it on the right side of the page.
If you have a Jobster profile, you can choose to make your visits to Recruiting.com known or any other site for that matter that has installed the code. It Links back to your profile on Jobster. If you have jobs you are looking to fill, it will show that as well. Soon, you will be able to post your jobs through this buddy system as well.
People can click your picture and then contact you or see all of the tags you have tagged yourself with and generally give more visibility to those who want it. For the people who spend time watching and contributing to the recruiting blogs out there, Jobster’s answer to mybloglog seems quite a bit more relevant. If this goes big, so will a lot of things.
Jobster is very interested in getting feedback on this new system and if you have some, leaving a comment on this post would be good.
Here is my feedback:
1. It is a great way to foster a community feel
2. It’s a smart way to promote open positions to a like minded community
3. It’s focused on connecting people for the purpose of career networking
4. Happy to see Recruiting.com look a little different
5. I am going to be 40 in two years. - I am happy with people not knowing when I visit their site unless I want them to know.
6. It drives me crazy when I get an email or phone call from someone who says they noticed that I had visited their recruiting blog today. I don't visit their site anymore.
